Bad Gastein / Hotel
Bad Gastein is an oasis of relaxation, health and active recreation. It is
a unique cure town in the Gastein Valley, surrounded by mountains,
where the crystal clear healing waters have poured from the earths
springs for hundreds of years. The little town is worldwide renown for
its Radon healing caves.
Famous visitors have flocked from all over the world to improve
their health here: Paracelsus, Otto von Bismark, Kaiser Wilhelm,
Sigmund Freud, Schaljapin, Lisa Minnelli, Charles Aznavour and of
course Kaiserin Elisabeth, after whom the hotel itself is named. Here,
Schubert penned his famous Gasteiner Symphony. The oldest Casino in
Europe, located 100 meters from the hotel, lends Bad Gastein its spirit
of aristocracy. Adding to the splendid atmosphere is the magnificent
waterfall, which flows through the center of the town to complete the
impressive complexion and healthy climate of this corner of paradise.
